Head of Risk Analytics for Coremetrix

This role will be employed by COREMETRIX, a company powered by Creditinfo.

Head of Risk Analytics role is central to the Coremetrix business and reports directly to the managing director. You will lead a team of risk modellers and data scientists; playing a key role in the development and validation of our risk profiling products, as well as identifying potential new opportunities across the globe.

Within Coremetrix, we work closely with lenders, insurers, data providers, credit reference agencies and software providers. Our psychometric risk assessment tools enable deeper understanding of applicants and customers.

Coremetrix is part of the Creditinfo group and has a number of very high profile partnerships across the globe. We work to deliver solutions where there is limited bureau information, in emerging or remote markets, or where there are requirements to understand the customer better and deliver advanced customer management services.

Our presence in the UK, India, Turkey, South Africa, Poland, Russia and Slovakia is well established having worked extensively with lenders over the last few years. The current roadmap includes expansion into new markets, new territories and incorporating other data sources to enhance our risk profiling capabilities.

The Role
Based in our HQ in London, the Head of Risk Analytics will lead the risk analytics team and will be mainly responsible for:

  • Overseeing analytical projects undertaken by a team of Risk Modelling Specialists and Data Scientists
  •  Internal approval of risk models to be used in client decisioning
  • Working closely with the managing director and senior management to assist with formulation of departmental strategies
  • Representing risk analytics to clients in both a pre-sales and project delivery capacity
  • Designing, developing and validating risk models and processes, using R
  • Work with various data sets in live environments with Credit & Risk and other Risk sector clients globally
  • Conduct research on innovative risk modelling approaches and techniques
  • Understanding internal and external data, infrastructure and reporting requirements and coordinating these with technical teams and clients
  • Scale next-generation risk models for the planned market expansion

Your Profile

Our successful candidate will encompass the following essential attributes:

  • A strong understanding of the Risk sector with extensive experience in developing & modelling risk products (5 years +)
  • Hands-on experience in building consumer scorecards for large financial or other equivalent organizations such as credit bureaus, insurers, etc.
  • A strong mathematical and statistical background, including an in-depth knowledge of statistical modelling techniques
  • Experience of using R or other statistical programming tools
  • Excellent leadership skills, demonstrated through managerial experience in an analytical context
  • Ability to think outside the box and see the bigger picture, with a focus on business strategy
  • Confidence to make critical decisions, challenge and manage stakeholders’ expectations on behalf of the team
  • Ability to set objectives and manage the workload of the team
  • Methodical, thorough and hard-working with an attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability
  • Desire to take responsibility for delivering complex modelling solutions
  • A preference for a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
